History
How Did We Get Here?
South Bay Veterinary Group, a combination of two of Boston's historic neighborhoods - The South End and Back Bay, was established in 1983 by Dr. Louis Guida. Dr. Paul Costantino and Dr. Tim Wosko took the blossoming practice over in 1992, opened the Charles Street Animal Clinic and grew it to become a staple in the neighborhoods they serve. Since 2021, the practice has been operated by Dr. Jane Gardiner and Dr. Eddie Baker as they strive to continue the amazing legacy of the clinics.

SERVICES
WELLNESS EXAMS
Routine annual or semi-annual checkups allow us to detect problems before they become serious, reducing cost and improving comfort. We want your pet to have the best life possible.
VACCINATIONS
Vaccines and parasite control are an important part of any preventive care program. We'll devise a plan that makes sense for you and your pet.
SURGERY
We perform routine spays, neuters, and a variety of soft tissue surgeries. We use state-of-the art anesthesia, monitoring and pain management tools to assure your pet's safety & comfort.
DIAGNOSTICS
We have a full service in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, electrocardiography, as well as mobile ultrasound and cardiology.
DENTAL CARE
Dental disease is very common in pets. We provide full dental cleanings, dental X-rays, extractions and other treatments as necessary.
HEALTH CERTIFICATES
We have three veterinarians who are accredited by the USDA to provide assistance with international health certificates for pets on the go.
REFERRALS
We work closely with a network of specialists in the greater Boston area to provide the expert care your pet needs.
